Cop Shop are an instrumental rock band from Adelaide, South Australia and formed in mid-2019 with an intention to play guitar tunes using surf, heavy rock, jazz, police drama TV themes & library music for inspiration. Comprised of three members who are veterans of the local Adelaide rock scene, they have formerly played in such bands as Transmitter, The Jaguar God, The Labrats and The Ghouls.

 

The band formed after a couple of middle-aged guitar nerds met playing in surf revivalist band, "The Gamma Rays" and decided to commit to another band project creating modern sounding instrumental music inspired by 20th century analog sounds. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses cavernous reverbed guitars with fuzz drenched tones and frentic surf rhythms that will make you want to watusi the night away. This is enhanced by the band having impeccable stage attire reminiscent of police detectives from the 1950s and 60s.
